Reykjavík parking is changing in 2026. Here's where it stands.

Where it stands today

The city has approved reviews of its zones, Sunday charging and downtown paid hours, and plans to open its garages 24/7. As of 10 October 2026, no new prices or hours have been announced: the current tariffs still apply, and the sign on each street is what counts.

What it means if you're visiting now

  • Prices and hours haven't changed yet. Use the current zone tariffs.
  • Garages still close at midnight (open 7:00–24:00) until the 24/7 date is announced.
  • Some P2 streets may become P3 — cheaper, and free in the evening and at weekends. Always read the sign: it's updated before the website is.
